  • How far are you located from Banff or Lake Louise?

    We are 25 minutes and 32.3km from Banff, and 18 minutes and 27km from Lake Louise.

  • What attractions are located nearby?

    Located in the heart of Banff National Park we are conveniently located on the Bow Valley Parkway within a 30 minute drive of: Lake Minnewanka, Banff, Sunshine Ski Area, Stanley Glacier, Marble Canyon, Johnston Canyon, Lake Louise & Resort Ski Area, and the Ice Field Parkway.

  • What facilities are available for guests to use at the property?

    The property hosts a gazebo with BBQ's, foosball and table tennis in the osprey lodge, a firepit with firewood, a guest laundry and a gym.

  • When is the best time of the year to visit Castle Mountain Chalets?

    Every season in the mountains provides us with something unique and special. Summer season is from mid May to the end of September and the park is most accessible during this time. The entire month of October the larch trees come to life with fall colours. November marks the unofficial start of winter with early season ice skating, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and ski touring at higher elevations possible in good snow years. December hosts winter in full swing with the opening of Lake Louise, Sunshine, Norquay, Panorama and Kicking Horse ski resorts, ice climbing, ski touring, ice skating, and 20+km of snow shoeing and cross country skiing track set right from our front door. Spring can start as early as late march or as late as mid April. With the spring thaw comes renewed life as the forest greens, flowers bloom, and furry creatures great and small warm themselves in the spring sunshine and feed in the lush meadows.

  • Is parking extra?

    Our Chalets have a parking spot for one vehicle adjacent to your Chalet and is free. If you have extra vehicles, or a motorhome or large vehicle which doesn’t fit in the allocated spot, parking in the main parking lot is permitted and free for registered guests. If you have a travel trailer, boat or utility trailer, we have space available in our maintenance yard if you wish to unhook while you stay with us.

  • What are your check-in and check-out times?

    Check-in time is 4pm and check-out is 11am. Please call us if you would like to request an early check-in or late check-out and is subject to availability. An additional room night + tax will be charged in the event check out has not been completed by the arranged check-out time.

  • Is there Cell Service?

    Yes.

  • Is there Internet Access?

    Complimentary Wi-Fi is included for our guests. Our internet is supplied via satellite, and therefore can be affected by weather systems either over the property or the transmission station located in Newfoundland and Labrador. Our internet is great for sending emails, messages, making voice or video calls, posting to your social media channels or researching and planning for your next days adventure. However, we do not guarantee its performance for uploading or downloading large files, or streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu etc. We recommend you bring an LTE or cellular device capable of supplying internet if internet access is critical.

  • Is it possible to get a room with a mountain view?

    You are in luck! All our Chalets have Mountain Views from your front door and or deck.

  • Are roll-away beds available for extra people in the Chalets?

    Our Chalets have a maximum occupancy of 4 people for the Mountain View suite, One Bedroom Deluxe, Pine and Cedar Chalets. The Two Bedroom Duplex has a maximum occupancy of 6 people. All our rooms are equipped with beds and sofa beds to accommodate, and therefore roll-away beds are unavailable.

  • Are cribs/playpens available for small children?

    We can provide a crib/playpen free of charge and subject to availability.

  • Do you have Babysitting/Childminding services available?

  • Do we need to bring our own firewood for the fireplace or outdoor firepit?

    We provide one bundle of firewood for your chalet each day. Extra firewood can be purchased for $10/bundle at the front desk. Wood for our outdoor firepit is restocked daily and free of charge.

  • Are there designated smoking areas on the property?

    Smoking is only acceptable on the deck of your Chalet provided ashtrays are utilized, and you are respectful of the comfort of other guests by taking into consideration where smoke may be travelling.

  • Are there storage facilities for our skis and snowboards?

    Our Deluxe One Bedroom Chalets have a secure outdoor storage closet for your ski and snow equipment.

  • Do you have Jetted Tubs?

    Our Deluxe One Bedroom Chalets and Mountain View Suites contain Jetted Bath Tubs.

  • How noisy is the train line?

    For the vast majority of our guests, noise from the train line is not an issue. Please contact the front desk to check which Chalets are best suited for extremely light sleepers.

  • Can we get a taxi to and from the property?

    Banff Taxi https://www.banfftransportation.com is your best bet and is approximately $70 each way.

  • Do you accept special requests for birthdays, honeymoons, anniversaries etc.?

    We would be happy to help make your stay extra special, please contact the front desk at least 14 days before your arrival date. Service and goods charges may apply and subject to availability.

  • Are dogs allowed at your property?

    We are dog friendly and charge $25 per pet per night with a maximum of two dogs per Chalet.

  • Are other types of pets allowed?

    Unfortunately, only dogs are permitted.

  • Can pets be left inside the room by themselves?

    For the best health and safety of your pet we recommend you dont leave your pet alone in your room. However, if it is unavoidable, we request your pet be crated while you are out.

  • What is supplied in the kitchens?

    The kitchens are equipped with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, kettle and our Deluxe One Bedroom Chalet’s, Mountain View Suite’s and Two Bedroom Duplex’s have a dishwasher. Our chalet's are equipped with quality kitchen dishware and utensils such as glassware, mugs, wine glasses, beer glasses, teapot, mixing bowls, oven dishes, baking sheets, muffin pan, knife block, plates and bowels, measuring cups, salt and pepper shaker, pots and pans, silverware, spatula, ladle, wooden spoon, pastry brush, ice cream scoop, can opener, peeler, tongs, whisk, colander, cutting boards, ice cube trays and a water jug.

  • Do you have a restaurant or is breakfast included?

    Our Chalets are self catered and provide a full kitchen for you and your family and friends to enjoy. Our General Store can supply you with the basics to create a meal. While we don't have a restaurant onsite, there are many options between Banff and Lake Louise, some within 15 minutes of the property.
